KERSTIN AS A LEADER

Focus on finding solutions, not on the problem or the mistake.

Leadership is not titles and positions.

Great Leaders inspire, motivate and empower.

The future of leadership is participative.

When I think of a leader, I think of a person with a vision.

LEADERSHIP IS A MINDSET. GOOD LEADERS INSPIRE AND MOTIVATE THEMSELVES. GREAT LEADERS INSPIRE AND MOTIVE OTHERS.

KERSTIN ON WORK-LIFE BALANCE

Balancing private and professional life is a continuous effort and requires conscious work to ensure, that neither one is neglected. Set boundaries and define your priorities. Allocate time for both work and personal activities. Delegate and empower year team. This also fosters a positive work environment. It is possible to leave work at a certain time in order to prioritise family and private life AND still be fully committed during working hours. Creating space for personal time, for self reflection and family life makes me a better leader. And finally: give yourself a regular break from technology (digital detox) and recharge your batteries!

KERSTIN ON MAKING MISTAKES

Mistakes happen to everyone. It's important to learn from them, not cover them up, not justify them or - even worse - not blame others. Talk about them openly, even if it's not easy. I'm quite comfortable talking about mistakes because I'm confident in my role, my knowledge, and my experience. But that was a journey.
Admitting your mistakes earns you the respect of those you lead and makes your leadership human.
